The RBS-16G4-2P54 is a PCIe 4.0 GPU riser card designed to connect one PCIe x16 graphics card or expansion card through two SlimSAS SFF-8654 8i cable interfaces.
Each SlimSAS port carries up to eight PCIe lanes. When both ports are connected to a compatible host-side adapter, the board provides a complete PCIe x16 connection for one expansion card.
The onboard PCIe 6-pin power input and power conversion circuit supply the PCIe slot independently. A 4-pin fan header is also provided for system cooling applications.

System Connection
This board is the device-side component of a PCIe extension system. A complete installation normally requires:
1. One compatible PCIe x16 host-side adapter
2. Two matching SlimSAS SFF-8654 8i cables
3. One RBS-16G4-2P54 riser card
4. One PCIe x16 graphics card or expansion card
5. One PCIe 6-pin 12V power connection
Both SlimSAS cables must be connected correctly. Using only one cable may result in an x8 link, device detection failure or incorrect lane mapping, depending on the host adapter design.
Compatibility
The board is intended for PCIe signaling through SlimSAS SFF-8654 connectors. The use of an SFF-8654 connector does not mean that the board supports SAS or SATA storage protocols.
The host adapter, cables and riser board must use the same PCIe pinout and lane mapping.
Actual PCIe generation and lane width depend on the motherboard, processor, BIOS, host adapter, cable quality, cable length and installed expansion card. PCIe 4.0 x16 operation should be tested with the complete target system before volume deployment.
