This PCIe 5.0 x1 to M.2 adapter card allows one M.2 M-Key NVMe SSD to be installed in an available PCI Express expansion slot. It uses one PCIe lane and supports data rates up to 32 GT/s when connected to a compatible PCIe 5.0 host system.
The adapter can be installed in PCIe x1, x4, x8 or x16 slots. Because the electrical interface is PCIe x1, the installed NVMe SSD operates through one PCIe lane, even when the adapter is installed in a physically larger PCIe slot.
Key Features
– PCIe 5.0 x1 host interface
– Data rate up to 32 GT/s
– Theoretical bandwidth of approximately 3.94 GB/s per direction
– One M.2 M-Key connector for an NVMe SSD
– Supports M.2 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 form factors
– Compatible with PCIe x1, x4, x8 and x16 expansion slots
– Backward compatible with PCIe 4.0, 3.0, 2.0 and 1.0
– Powered directly through the PCIe slot
– No additional power cable required
– No dedicated adapter driver required
– Ultra-slim horizontal PCB design
– Marked segmentation points for different SSD lengths
Adjustable PCB Length
The PCB provides mounting positions for M.2 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 SSDs. Clearly marked segmentation points allow the unused PCB section to be shortened according to the installed SSD length.
Select the correct mounting position before modifying the PCB. Once a PCB section has been removed, it cannot be restored.
SSD Compatibility
This adapter is designed for M.2 M-Key PCIe NVMe SSDs. It does not support M.2 SATA SSDs.
The installed SSD is limited to a PCIe x1 connection. Its actual read and write performance depends on the PCIe generation supported by the motherboard, the available PCIe lane, the SSD and the operating system.
When connected to an older PCIe slot, the adapter automatically operates at the highest mutually supported PCIe generation.
System Requirements
– One available PCIe x1, x4, x8 or x16 slot
– An operating system with NVMe support
– A motherboard BIOS or UEFI with NVMe boot support when the SSD is used as a system drive
The adapter itself does not provide hardware RAID. No PCIe bifurcation setting is normally required because the adapter connects only one NVMe SSD through one PCIe lane.
Applications
– Adding an M.2 NVMe SSD to a desktop computer
– Workstation and server storage expansion
– Industrial computer storage upgrades
– Compact and space-constrained computer systems
– Installing an NVMe SSD when motherboard M.2 slots are unavailable
– Low-clearance installations near a graphics card
Before ordering, please confirm the required M.2 SSD size, available PCIe slot, motherboard NVMe support and required quantity.
